Trustees discussed an influx of political signage this season during the Aug. 5 meeting. Chairman Bill Gratz described the number of signs as excessive and noted multiple citizens had contacted the village, and counsel David Bandre' said he had also received calls.
Following that discussion, the Board directed Clerk Libby Chipman to reach out to election officials to identify staff involved in the November election and to send letters or emails explaining Village ordinances and the allowable timeframes for political signs. The Board did not adopt new ordinances at the meeting; the step is intended as outreach and education to reduce sign-related complaints.
