Developer previews 250-unit residential plan for Avon Village Center

At the July 14 meeting, representatives for Post Road Residential (Andy Montelli and John McFadyen) and their attorney, Bob Meyers, delivered an informal preview of a residential plan for the Avon Village Center. Mr. Meyers said the AVC master plan previously envisioned housing and that Post Road Residential proposes an initial 250 units (three-story apartment building and two-story townhomes) with a potential future phase of 165 additional units.
Presenters described ground-floor amenity spaces, stoops or porches for ground-level units, standalone garages to screen parking, and a proposed green public space or town common. Town staff said the only required filing for the proposal at this stage would be a site-plan application. Developers agreed to provide a list of property names/locations and development descriptions to the commission upon request.
