Committee approves EMS equipment purchases, contracts, fee changes and lease extension

Wyoming County’s Public Safety Committee on July 30 approved several items affecting emergency medical services operations and funding. After discussion about use of opioid settlement funds, the committee agreed to buy one portable suction unit for $2,694.00 and three AirTraq intubation cameras at $3,300 each (total $9,900.00); Supervisor Roche moved the purchase, and the motion passed 7–0.
The committee also authorized an amended lease with Sheldon Fire Company to extend garage and storage space for county EMS staging through Dec. 31, 2026, not to exceed $25,500 (motion Kehl passed 6–1, Klein voting no). The county approved a contract with Reisdorf Oil and Propane for installation of a double-wall/diked gasoline tank for ambulance fueling in an amount not to exceed $94,000 (effective Aug. 1, 2026–July 31, 2029). Additional EMS-related contracts approved included an annual service contract with Wyoming County Community Health System (not to exceed $3,000 annually; $12,000 life-of-contract) for equipment maintenance, a revenue contract with Mammoth Event Corporation for event medical coverage ($4,325), and an amendment increasing the ImageTrend contract by $20,717.81 (total not to exceed $33,367.81). The committee also voted to amend the Wyoming County Ambulance Service fee schedule to increase standby and private transport charges.
