Winnsboro ISD attorney says court dismissed claims against district and board members

John Hardy, the Winnsboro ISD school attorney, told the board on June 23 that “the court has dismissed all claims against the WISD Board of Trustees as an entity” and that the court also dismissed all claims against individual board members. Hardy additionally said the court dismissed Sandra Kelly’s claim under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Hardy told trustees that the court record does not resolve why community members came to speak that evening. There was no further public elaboration in the transcript; the board later went into closed session under Texas Government Code §551.071 and §551.074 and returned to open session before adjourning.
