Select Board reviews $700 bid for Old Brick Schoolhouse weathervane and backs SEED grant support
Summary

At the July 29 meeting the Select Board reviewed a $700 bid from T. McEachern to carve a replacement weathervane for the Old Brick Schoolhouse in a design similar to the existing (possibly whale or fish). The board asked McEachern to meet with Selectmen to discuss project details before final approval and noted that M. Collins had offered a weathervane made by his father but the board chose to keep the original theme; Don Carlisle asked staff to obtain an estimate for a lift to install the weathervane on the cupola.
Separately, the board voted to approve a letter of support for a SEED grant application for Nelson School being prepared by Nicole Gordon. Brenna made the motion and Don seconded; the motion carried 2-0.
Edie also reported the final Fidium installation at the town office is complete.
