Nelson will not install dry hydrant at Center Pond, cites insufficient water depth

The Nelson Select Board voted July 29 to notify New Hampshire Fish and Game that the town will not proceed with installing a dry hydrant at Center Pond because the area designated for the hydrant lacks sufficient and predictable water depth. Chair Brenna Kucinski moved the letter and Don Carlisle seconded; the motion carried 2-0.
"The Town of Nelson will not be moving forward with a dry hydrant at Center Pond due to a lack of sufficient water depth in the area designated as it is controlled by the beaver dam and not predictable," the board recorded. The Select Board also approved a letter to landowners K. & L. Dahmen advising them of the decision and thanking them for their support of the project.
No alternative water-access measures were decided at the meeting; the board recorded the decision and closed the agenda item.
