Winnsboro ISD honors 21 students for 100% CCMA pass rate, recognizes student and staff of the month

The Winnsboro Independent School District Board of Trustees on April 21 recognized 21 Winnsboro High School students who achieved a 100% pass rate on the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam, a nationally recognized credential that qualifies graduates for entry-level clinical and administrative roles in health-care settings.
The board also honored Kallie Pillow as Winnsboro Elementary School Student of the Month and Marie Tankersley as Winnsboro Memorial Intermediate School Staff of the Month. A student-led presentation marked Autism Awareness Month and was viewed by the board. Superintendent Dave Wilcox told trustees that renovation cost estimates for the new administration building will be presented at the May meeting.
The recognitions came at the start of the board's meeting, which President Brandon Green called to order at 6:00 p.m. The board received the student achievements and the presentation as informational items; no related board action was taken during the April session.
