City administrator: 8 vacancies, citizen survey mailed to 2,250 addresses

City Administrator Miss Wagner told the Smithville Board of Aldermen the city currently has eight vacancies across departments and has added three new positions to address workloads. "We do have an update on personnel, and we currently have 8 vacancies in recruitment," Wagner said, and she noted recruitment activity across nearly every department.
Wagner also briefed the board on a mailed citizen satisfaction survey. "The survey was mailed to 2,250 addresses," she said, and staff purchased an address list from ETC Institute so responses would be address-based and limited to one household per address. Wagner said staff has received 69 responses so far and that ETC's goal is 300 responses to reach the statistical significance they require. Wagner added that she and staff will geotag responses to understand community patterns and reported meeting with Clay County administrator Damon Hodges about shared road agreements and a waterline connection for Clay County Parks and Recreation at Smithville Lake.
