South Cle Elum approves conditional-use permit for periodic nursery plant sales with parking restrictions

Mayor DeVere opened a public hearing at 7:04 and Clerk Luanne read two written neighbor comments supporting the application for a conditional use permit to allow periodic retail sales of nursery plants. Council members raised concerns about customer parking and the potential for blocking South Cle Elum Way.
Councilmember McGuire moved to approve the CUP with the added condition that no extended parking take place on South Cle Elum Way and that the activity must not block traffic; Allenbaugh seconded and the motion passed by majority vote. The council also directed staff to send a written letter to the applicant documenting the added condition. The public hearing was closed at 7:12.
