Owner Eric Johnson appeared before the Board seeking variances to increase the degree of nonconformity for a proposed 20-by-20 addition and to allow an existing rear deck to remain after a recent survey corrected the property's recorded setbacks. The application had generated 81 mailed notices to neighbors.
The Board reviewed the five variance factors and classified the matter as a Type II action under SEQRA. Mr. Johnson acknowledged the earlier deck was installed without an updated survey; Chairman Scalzo and Board members said the proposed one-story addition fits the neighborhood character. Mr. James Eberhart moved for approval, Mr. James Politi seconded, and the variances were approved on a unanimous roll call.
