Town approves summer work hours and awards road-material and milling bids

The Town Board approved a summer-hours schedule for Highway, Fleet, Water and Sewer departments from June 15 through September 25, 2026, setting Monday'Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Friday 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with holiday adjustments, a change presented by Highway Superintendent Mark A. Hall Jr.
The board also reviewed and awarded a series of bids for summer road materials (cold patch, aggregates and screenings), with multiple line items awarded to Callahan & Nannini and JKN Trucking. Councilman Manley moved to award the summer materials as presented. Separately, the board awarded the cold-milling-machine contract to Jorrey Excavating Inc. of Middletown for the listed milling widths; both actions passed unanimously.
Highway Superintendent Hall said chip seal is set for the end of August and paving for early September, pending weather, and that the town had completed testing and initial preparation for chip seal.
