Andrew Kern, representing Envision, told the commission the organization plans to consolidate mission and foundation services at a South Water campus and to relocate manufacturing and program operations, which could free the current 73,000-square-foot building at 610 North Main. "As Envision, is looking forward to our future and evolution, we're looking at absolutely a maximization and utilization of space," Kern said, describing plans for an early-child development center, a rehabilitation clinic for people who are blind and visually impaired, a research institute and a workforce innovation center on the new campus.
Commissioners thanked Envision for the briefing and said they appreciated a clearer picture for clients and the public if the building becomes a county option. The commission invited Envision representatives to continue the conversation as county staff and commissioners evaluate siting, parking and co-location trade-offs for a permanent administration building. No formal proposal or sale was presented at this meeting.
