The Johnstown Common Council adopted Ordinance #4 on public parking lots after a public hearing opened and closed at 6:05 p.m. with no public comment. Council members said the city has completed paving the municipal lots and will add color-specific signage and issue color-coordinated permits to help motorists park where they are assigned.
Council Member Bradley Hayner moved the ordinance and Council Member Max Spritzer seconded; the motion carried (Ayes: 4; Absent: Scott Miller). The ordinance follows staff planning intended to reduce confusion in frequently used lots and formalizes permit and signage standards discussed during the hearing.
The council did not record public objections during the hearing. The new signage and permit rollout will be implemented by City staff as directed in the ordinance and is intended to guarantee a reserved spot for people who are assigned or request a permit in a given lot.
