The Kenyon‑Wanamingo School Board voted March 24 to approve a broad set of personnel and program reductions intended to reduce projected FY26 expenditures. Approved cuts include administrative and support positions such as a .5 FTE Elementary Principal ($70,152), 1.0 FTE Dean of Students ($68,006), and a 1.0 FTE Secretary ($49,000), as well as instructional and program reductions across the district.
The board recorded multiple individual motions across the FY26 realignment proposal. Some motions passed unanimously; others drew split votes or abstentions. The motion approving the package of reductions was recorded in a series of roll‑call actions (see provenance). The minutes show the theatre change passed narrowly while other program reductions—including middle school Knowledge Bowl stipend and transportation cuts and a preschool teacher reduction—were also approved. The board also approved a reduction of .5 FTE High/Middle School Science ($50,836) and a .2 FTE Tech Assistant ($13,236).
