ICPHD reports March activity: inspections, screenings and trainings
Summary
Iroquois County Public Health Department reported March activity including 12 temporary food permits, 63 tobacco compliance inspections, 64 vision/hearing screenings, two TB investigations, six animal bite reports and plans for an April 9 after-hours clinic.
Administrator Robin Allen presented the March 2026 program summary at the April 7 board meeting, detailing environmental and clinical activity.
Allen reported Environmental Health issued 12 temporary food permits in March, distributed 6 Radon test kits, conducted 63 tobacco compliance inspections and performed 64 vision and hearing screenings. Two TB cases were investigated in March (one latent, one determined not to be TB). Six animal bites were reported; one person received rabies treatment while the animal later tested negative for rabies.
Allen also noted department-led training and outreach: two Narcan trainings, four CPR trainings and a Safe Sitter class. An after-hours clinic is scheduled for April 9, 2026. Senior Services enrollment stands at 199 clients with a Senior Social planned for June 12, 2026.
