County board member flags higher 911 center lease and rising dispatch fees for Watseka

During the Iroquois County ETSB meeting on April 7, 2026, Iroquois County Board Member Donna Crow raised concerns about rising property and dispatch costs for the county's 911 operations. Crow said the ETSB's lease for the 911 center will increase to $14.06 per square foot for the next two years and that talks with the City of Watseka over dispatch fees will continue.
Crow provided the most recent figures discussed with Watseka for the joint dispatch budget: $145,000 for fiscal year 2026, $159,500 for fiscal year 2027, and $175,450 for fiscal year 2028. She told the board that she and Vice-Chair Jamie Bakken have continued engagement with city officials about how those fees will be structured going forward. The ETSB did not take a formal vote on lease terms or dispatch-fee changes at the April meeting and left further work to the County Board and Management Committee.
