Chair reported that DOT attended a meeting about the village sidewalks and will send the state agreement for the board to review so the village can seek reimbursement under the grant. He said DOT will take the lead on right-of-way acquisitions and will deed property back to the village at the end of the project.
Board members discussed timing, noting that 23 easements along the New York State Railway and 17 on village streets are required. Chair estimated the project will not be built in 2026 and will most likely be built in 2027. One member asked whether the grant amount and rising costs would affect the project; the board said they have already increased the grant amount this year and that costs may require revisiting estimates.
