The Redfield City Council held a public hearing and approved Family Dollar's 2026 package-retail liquor/wine license after no public testimony was offered. The council previously published notice of the hearings in October. The renewal was approved on a motion by Jessi Lewis, seconded by Amy Akin.
On the consent calendar the council approved temporary malt and on/off sale liquor licenses for Starters Lanes & Sports Lounge for events at the 4H Building next year. At the meeting's close the council approved payment of listed city and hospital claims, and additional vendor payments including JCK Service, Inc., NWPS, Travel South Dakota and an amendment adding $8,000 to Premier Pyrotechnics Inc. for 2026 fireworks; that payment motion passed on a roll call vote with all members voting "Yes."
