Council approves physician contract, hospital minutes, personnel leave and claims

At the Nov. 3 meeting the Redfield City Council approved a physician contract (motion by Joe Morrissette, second by Brent Derscheid) and accepted CMH Hospital minutes dated Oct. 27, 2025 and Special CMH Hospital minutes dated Oct. 31, 2025 (motion by Joe Morrissette, second by Brent Derscheid). The council also approved a maternity leave request (motion by Jessi Lewis, second by Amy Akin) and approved sending Supt. Moore to the Annual Technical Conference in Pierre, S.D., Jan. 13–15, 2026 (motion by Joe Morrissette, second by Brent Derscheid).
The council approved city prepaid and unpaid claims (totals recorded in the minutes) and hospital claims; additional vendor claims approved by roll call included Core & Main LP $15.71 for freight, Redfield Ace Hardware $1,898.14 for supplies and materials, Matthew Weller $638.32 for Dream Hunt supplies, Sandra McNeill $312.50 for web page updates, Napa Auto Parts $42.98 for band clamps, Richard Weaver $6,750.00 for tire bailing, and SD Assoc. of Rural Water System $350.00 for conference registration. The motion to pay claims was moved by Amy Akin and seconded by Brent Derscheid; roll-call vote recorded all members voting "Yes."
