Contractor reports 80% of slabs in at Kelly/Black Primary; contingency use remains low

James Marini, an Ajax representative, opened the committee's project updates and introduced Ron Frick, Ajax's senior project manager on site. Frick said major structural milestones are largely complete: "So summary, basically, the, all the slabs are in" and later, "There's 80% of slabs in." He reported block walls are being installed and metal roof trusses had been delivered and were starting on Building 600.
Frick and Marini also described the project's financial picture to date. Ajax said most subcontractor payments have been made and that the project remains "financially healthy," noting the contingency had been lightly drawn so far: "we've only used 3% of the 2,900,000." District members pressed for clarity on reported percentages and asked Ajax to provide a corrected schedule-of-values; Marini agreed to revise and send updated figures to district staff the following day. Staff and contractors said a final reconciliation and buyout will settle owner-direct purchases (ODP), allowances and tax-savings line items at project closeout.
