Belpre reports tower-truck repair, ambulance insurance review and safety upgrades

Safety-Service Director Mr. Rhodes reported that the city’s tower truck has been repaired and returned to service at a cost of $16,820.67. He said the decommissioned Heavy Rescue vehicle has been listed for sale on GovDeals.
Mr. Rhodes said he provided VFIS Claims Management with the original ambulance invoice and title; VFIS indicated the vehicle would be totaled, but Mr. Rhodes said he had not yet received written confirmation. He also noted that to meet Public Employment Risk Reduction Program requirements the street and water employees received Class 2 high-visibility safety apparel, and confined-space training was recently held for street, water, and wastewater crews (with training scheduled for police, fire and EMS personnel the following night).
