The Jerseyville City Council authorized a road closure for Jefferson Street (from the entrance to parking lot D to the Royal Banks drive-up) and the alleyway from Terrapin Place to the Royal Banks drive-up to accommodate the Rock the Block concert scheduled Friday, May 30 from 4:00 p.m. to midnight. Commissioner Zachary Crawford moved the road-closure approval and Commissioner Anthony Steckel seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Separately, the council approved a $3,000 tourism grant submitted by Steve Pegram of Got Faith? to support events he is sponsoring between May and December 2025. The council discussed logistics for the concert during the meeting’s announcements; Mayor Kevin Stork also noted that Mattie Schell will headline the Rock the Block performance on May 30 from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m.
