The Jerseyville City Council voted to post a draft of the FY26 Appropriations Ordinance for public inspection and set a public hearing for Tuesday, July 22 at 5:45 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Commissioner Anthony Steckel moved the measure and Commissioner John Miles seconded; the roll call vote showed all present voted aye and the motion carried.
Mayor Kevin Stork framed the action as a procedural step to allow public review and comment before final adoption. The hearing date and time—July 22 at 5:45 p.m.—were specified in the motion and will be the opportunity for residents to raise concerns or suggestions about proposed appropriations. No budget figures were discussed at the June 24 meeting and specifics of the ordinance were not read aloud, only the posting and hearing were approved.
