Representatives from Ashland Fire Department, Bayfield County EMS (Brian Zieman), Essentia Health and North Memorial Health gave PowerPoint presentations July 15 outlining qualifications, coverage areas, staffing plans, delivery models and financial proposals for supplemental EMS coverage in Bayfield County. Each presenter answered board questions during a follow-up Q&A session intended to clarify operational details and coverage assumptions.
County staff planned to evaluate the proposals using an objective scoring packet provided by the Wisconsin Office of Rural Health. After closed-session review, the board later voted to pursue public discussion of the Ashland Fire Department and Essentia Health proposals for further public feedback and analysis.
