Council approves $300 temporary construction easement for Erie/Monroe roundabout

City staff presented Parcel 8, a temporary construction easement for the Erie and Monroe roundabout and Erie Street resurfacing; staff said the city negotiated with property owners Eric and Elena Kenny and reached an agreement of $300 for the temporary easement. Mr. Shaw told council the easement is temporary (no permanent right-of-way) but will cause loss of some trees that currently screen the property, and staff discussed post-project mitigation with Parks and Forestry.
"We've reached an agreement with the Kennys in the amount of $300 for the temporary construction easement," Mr. Shaw said, adding that Parks and Forestry would work with the property owners on replacement plantings to soften the loss of tree screening. Council adopted Ordinance 85-2026 as an emergency measure to accept the easement and appropriate funds.
