Notus clerk reports website and permit activity; council approves hire of assistant

City Clerk/Treasurer Loretta Vollmer provided administrative metrics and permit activity at the Feb. 18 meeting and the council was informed of a new hire in the clerk's office.
Vollmer reported Google Business Profile activity including "31 phone calls, 34 people asked for directions, 34 website visits and 94 profile visits," and she said the city issued one building permit and six burn permits and billed $27,173.47 for utilities. Later in the agenda, Mayor David Porterfield announced the hiring of Toni Thornton as an assistant and said she "has government service experience and has worked at the post office and Cambridge school District." The council recorded no objection to the hire.
A public safety report was also reviewed noting 35 hours spent in Notus during the reporting period.
