City submits letters for drinking-water grants; DEQ requires secondary fuel-containment for generator

Antonio Conti (listed in the roll call as City Planner and later referenced as City Engineer in the minutes) reported he had submitted Letters of Interest for DEQ drinking-water grants and said it will be about three months before the city hears whether funding is awarded. Conti told the council he has met with DEQ regarding VFD improvements and said engineered plans will be required for DEQ approval. He also reported "a generator fueling spill containment issue that will need to be addressed" and that "DEQ is requiring a secondary spill containment."
On a motion by Councilman Devin Krasowski, seconded by Councilman Rob Hartsock, the council directed Conti to create an operating procedure for fueling the generator to meet DEQ's containment requirement. The council recorded the action for follow-up and noted the grant timeline.
