Caldwell Fire says it plans 24/7 staffing at Notus station, aims to return with impact-fee proposal

A representative for Caldwell Rural Fire told the Notus City Council on Feb. 18 that the agency intends to staff the Notus station full time and will return to discuss impact fees.
Mark Wendelsdorf told the council that a recent Idaho Press-Tribune article contained inaccuracies and that Caldwell Fire "proposes to man the Notus station 24/7, 365." He said the service would start with a two-person full-time crew "hopefully on 7-1-2025." Wendelsdorf said calls will still be covered by Caldwell Fire but operating from the Notus station could make that station first on the scene.
Caldwell Fire is preparing a strategic plan and considering impact fees; Wendelsdorf said the agency is looking to return in March to discuss impact fees with the city.
