City of Eagle, PPRC launch 'Eagle Connected' parks, trails and recreation plan

Consultants from Logan Simpson and Ballard King kicked off the City of Eagle’s new parks and recreation planning effort, calling the project “Eagle Connected” and scheduling three phases spanning community input, opportunities analysis and a prioritized draft plan for council adoption.
"Welcome to Eagle Connected as we're calling it," said Christina Webb of Logan Simpson, who led the presentation describing scope that includes pathways, trails, parks, recreation and regional open‑space connectivity. Webb said the consultants completed site visits and an initial advisory work group meeting with agency partners and will run an online survey and public open houses over the coming months.
The process will include a facility inventory, condition assessment, gap analysis, benchmarking (acres per 1,000, trail miles per 1,000 and staff per full‑time equivalent) and a financial analysis that pairs recommendations with funding mechanisms. Webb said the team expects to solicit roughly 300–400 Eagle resident survey responses and to present draft recommendations in the fall.
The joint meeting brought city council members and the Parks, Pathways and Recreation Commission together for the first of three planned joint work sessions. Mayor Brad Pike said the plan should balance new facilities with stewardship of the foothills and river greenbelt.
The consultant team asked the group to help publicize upcoming engagement and reminded members that the plan will be advisory to council and likely adopted by resolution once the draft is finalized.
