The Notus City Council approved routine financial and administrative items during its Feb. 18 meeting, including a $7,243.60 disbursement and acceptance of committee meeting minutes.
Council President Steve Ahlborn moved to approve the disbursement payment of $7,243.60; Councilman Rob Hartsock seconded and the roll-call vote recorded Ahlborn, Hartsock and Councilwoman Lupita Connor voting yes. The council also unanimously accepted the Community Events Committee minutes from Feb. 11, 2025 after a motion by Hartsock and second by Ahlborn.
On a separate consent-track agenda item, the council approved a new building inspector agreement to replace retiring inspector Steve Pierson. Councilman Rob Hartsock moved to approve the agreement with T. Young and the City of Notus; Ahlborn seconded and the motion carried with the same three affirmative votes. The council then approved a follow-up motion authorizing Mayor David Porterfield to sign the completed agreement once the document includes required corrections, including full company name and address and the background-check requirement discussed in the meeting.
Adjournment was approved later in the meeting by unanimous consent with Ahlborn moving to adjourn and Hartsock seconding.
