Council adopts 2027 tax budget; approves insurance renewal with modest increase

On insurance, the law director summarized the renewal package: "The renewal is $223,002.00," and staff said that the cyber policy renewal will be about $25,001.75 with coverages unchanged. The recommended changes included removing small auto-medical and fellow-employee coverages and adding paramedics into the $10,000,000 umbrella, which staff estimated would raise the premium to $229,428 if adopted; council approved the emergency ordinance (26-61) to authorize renewal agreements.
