City community services and recreation staff presented findings from visits to comparable centers and proposed a scaled facility sized to local needs. "Our multi use room that we're looking to incorporate into a new center would be a large room with a capacity of up to 240," the community services director said while reviewing sizing and programming notes.
Presenters emphasized that the Bay Village center would be tailored to local demand rather than a replica of larger facilities, and outlined key features: divisible multiuse space, studio space for fitness/yoga, improved storage, and reconfigured parking and ADA access. Council members supported formation of an ad hoc committee to work with staff and begin drafting an RFQ for architects and developers over the summer.
