Kendall said the request also includes a seventh‑grade English teacher and three special‑education teachers to support Leslie Fox Keiser, A.S. Rhodes and Rusty Jeffreys elementary schools to address a growing population of special‑education needs. Instructional support requests also included two instructional assistants and a board‑certified behavioral analyst (BCBA) to address general‑education behavioral challenges. Moderator noted that the district currently pays for a BCBA with special‑education funds and flagged the limits on using those funds for general‑education purposes. The board was told these staffing items are the division’s top student‑facing priorities and will be revisited in subsequent work sessions.
