Farmingdale OKs 10% co-payment for qualifying residents in lead-and-copper replacement program

The Board approved a resolution on July 20 authorizing a 10% co-payment for residents who qualify for the lead-and-copper water line replacement program, with funding provided by Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) monies (RESOLVED #2027-07-14). The motion was made by Deputy Mayor William Barrett and seconded by Trustee Cheryl Parisi.
Administrator/Clerk/Treasurer Brian Harty and Water Department staff outlined that the program will use CDBG funds to cover the majority of replacement costs and that staff will identify qualifying criteria and procedures for administering the co-payment requirement. The resolution formalizes the Village’s participation in a funded replacement program and directs staff to move forward with enrollment and implementation steps.
