Residents urge coordinated planning, sidewalk improvements for Northeast neighborhood

During public comment, resident Kasey Grier urged the town to plan sidewalk improvements in the Northeast neighborhood and called for better coordination among Onancock Main Street (OMS), the Onancock Economic Development Authority (OEDA) and the Planning Commission. Grier said OMSs current boundary excludes a large part of town and a second business district and asked that the commissions and OMS meet periodically to align strategies.
Councilmember Cindy Holdren urged the OEDA to bring forward a meeting report on activities, and Councilmember Lisa Fiege requested that Eric Luchansky with the Accomack-Northampton Planning District Commission (ANDPC) attend the February meeting to provide updates on the Northeast Revitalization Project. The council did not take formal action on sidewalks during this meeting but identified coordination and further reporting as follow-up items.
