Onancock council appoints Dick Freeman to BZA and adopts 2025 meeting schedule

Councilmember Maphis Oswald moved to recommend Dick Freeman to the Board of Zoning Appeals; Councilmember Cindy Holdren seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The council also approved the calendar of meetings for 2025, updating the November meeting to Nov. 17, 2025 and setting the personnel committee to meet quarterly. Councilmember Paul Weitzel abstained from the schedule vote because his term ends Dec. 31, 2024.
Mayor Fletcher Fosque noted that the Planning Commission did not meet in November and reminded residents interested in serving on the Planning Commission to apply by Jan. 1, 2025. Councilmembers asked staff to update calendars and post application information as needed.
