Between the Shores bike tour brought an estimated $511,000 to Onancock-area economy, presenters say

Donna Bozza, Executive Director of Citizens for a Better Eastern Shore, presented a final revenue report on the Between the Shores bike tour at the Dec. 16 Onancock council meeting. The event sold out with 1,189 registrants, and CBES estimates participants and guests spent an estimated $511,000 in the area, up from roughly $350,000 in 2023.
Bozza said the event drew riders from 24 states and the District of Columbia, with 72% of participants staying one or more nights and 89% indicating they were "very likely" to return to the Eastern Shore because of the bike tour. "The bike tour was a sold-out event and successful," she told the council. Organizers indicated the event brought visitors who are likely to return and spend additional dollars in the local economy.
