Parks and Rec committee reports summer programming and improved pool hiring outlook

Parks and Recreation committee member Terry reported that summer programming planning is underway and that Pastime Park will host a summer camp run by a local organization. "For anyone that's not aware, there's going to be a kind of summer camp, at Pastime Park that, is being run..." Terry said, and added the committee has seen good interest in pool hiring and expects enough certified staff for the season.
The committee discussed adding a second batting cage adjacent to the existing facility and is planning a suggestion on naming the dog park. Staff and volunteers are coordinating a sidewalk walk with the parks master-plan consultant and preparing follow-up materials for the consultant, including historical park information and GIS files.
