Administrator says new natural-gas aggregation lowers rates; board authorizes electric aggregation

Administrator Lori Kyle told trustees the township has entered a new natural-gas aggregation contract for the term covering November 2026 through October 2027, at a rate "a little over 53¢ per CCF," which she said is roughly 17% lower than the prior aggregation rate.
"The new rate will be 53 a little over 53¢ per CCF, which is 100 cubic feet, and that is 17% lower than our current aggregation rate of, a little less than 65¢ per 100 cubic feet," Kyle said. She said she will later ask the board for authority to enter an electric aggregation agreement when Energy Alliances indicates an appropriate price.
Trustees then moved and approved a resolution authorizing the administrator to enter an electric aggregation agreement recommended by Energy Alliances, with an accepted price not to exceed 10.499¢ per kilowatt hour at the time of signing and a term not to exceed 24 months. The motion carried on roll call.
The board did not set an exact electric contract date at the meeting; the resolution gives the administrator authority to act when the consultant recommends signing.
