The board voted to approve an agreement to purchase attendance credits to net Chapter 48 funding for the 2026–27 school year and delegated contractual authority to the superintendent. The motion was made and seconded during the non‑consent portion of the meeting and "the motion passes unanimously," President Heinemann announced.
Trustees said the action was required by state timelines and cited Texas Education Code provisions for the authorization; no board member asked to remove the item for separate consideration. The approval was taken as a single action at the meeting; administration said the contract authority would allow the district to comply with state reporting and allocation requirements in a timely manner.
