The Eagle City Council voted May 13 to move forward with a private sale and development of the Orville Jackson House subject to deed restrictions intended to preserve its historic features. The motion to "move forward on option 3 with a private sale slash development with a deed restriction for the Jackson home" was made by S6 and seconded by S3; a roll call of members present returned ayes and the motion carried.
Council members said the decision balances preservation goals with fiscal restraint after staff presented an appraisal and five disposition options. Council instructed city staff, the historic preservation officer and the city attorney to draft explicit deed restrictions and to coordinate with Eagle Urban Renewal and other taxing districts on next steps. S4 noted appraisal executive-summary figures and the appraisal document itself is on file with staff.
