In the City Administrator's report, staff said the Event Center received a grant from the Blazing Star Community Advised Fund (recorded in the minutes as $11,10000 — minutes contain an extra digit; recorded here as $11,100), the Fire Department received $14,000 for the SCBA air pack project, and the Ambulance received $5,000 to support equipment upgrades. The administrator also reported recovering $17,400.70 in overpaid sales tax for 2023–24; those funds were returned to the water fund.
Why it matters: the donations and grants directly fund emergency services and community facilities, and the sales-tax recovery returns previously overpaid funds to the budget area that paid them.
