Henry County committee recommends $222,400 agreement for CH 5 & I-80 slope repair design

On June 11, 2026, the Transportation Committee of the Henry County Board recommended that the full County Board execute a Preliminary Engineering Agreement with Hutchison Engineering, Inc. to design the next phase of the County Highway 5 and I-80 slope repair project, committing $222,400.00 for preliminary engineering work. Scott Stephenson, County Engineer, presented the proposal and asked the committee to forward the recommendation to the Board.
Scott Stephenson, County Engineer, said, "S. Stephenson presented and recommended the Board execute a Preliminary Engineering Agreement with Hutchison Engineering, Inc., to design the next phase of CH 5 & I-80 Slope Repair project in the amount of $222,400.00." Member Dale Stiles moved to recommend the Board execute the agreement; Crystal Strode seconded. A roll-call vote was recorded as five "Aye": R. Kiser, D. Dobbels, R. Elliott, D. Stiles and C. Strode. The motion carried. The committee noted the item will go to the full County Board for final execution.
