Board names new mental-health and local board members; clerk reports small unclaimed funds list

The Board appointed Lauren Morris of Clinton to the DeWitt County Community Mental Health Board (term to 12/31/2029) and approved other appointments: Spencer Thomas re-appointment to the Kenney Fire Protection District Board of Trustees (term to April 30, 2029), Chad Lamar to the Commissioner position at Prairie Center Drainage District (to complete John V Workman's term through Sept. 2027), and Joan Schneider to the DeWitt County Housing Authority Board (term to May 31, 2031).
Clerk Harris told the Board the Illinois State Treasurer's office contacted her about unclaimed money for several county departments; she said the amount was "a little under $3,000" before removing agencies she believed the county should not collect for, and that the review and approval process would take roughly two months.
