Chair Melonie Tilley flagged that eligibility for insurance and retirement generally depends on meeting a 30-hour-per-week threshold. The request followed comments from County Clerk Kari Harris, who said she is salaried and "works 24/7," and a broader committee discussion about how to treat elected officials' schedules and benefits when setting multi-year term salaries.
Dee Rentmeister was asked to forward the question to the State's Attorney for legal guidance on ordinance or policy changes the full board would need to consider. The committee adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
