Board approves bridge contracts, asks IDOT consent for county engineer reappointment

Commissioner Prestegaard presented road-and-bridge items April 23, and the board approved a $10,000 contract split 50/50 with Tunbridge Road District for bridge work on Section 26-10122-00-BR southeast of Kenney. The board also approved a contract with Clintonia Road District for Section 16-02112-00-BR (Washington Street bridge) with 80% paid from the Bridge Fund and the remaining 20% split with Clintonia Township; both motions carried.
Separately the board approved a Resolution Requesting Consent to the Reappointment of the Incumbent County Engineer; Prestegaard said IDOT must approve the recommendation and salary discussions will follow. The reappointment process occurs every six years and the current term is set to expire in July 2026.
