Council approves notes and assessments to fund sewer, street work and utilities

Fairview Park council approved several financial ordinances authorizing the sale of notes in anticipation of bonds and levying special assessments to support upcoming infrastructure work.
The clerk read ordinance 26-29 as "providing for the issuance and sale of not to exceed $4,720,000 in notes in anticipation of bonds for the purpose of improving the city's sanitary sewage system" (Clerk). Council later passed ordinance 26-30 authorizing notes not to exceed $1,680,000 for street improvements. Both ordinances were placed on final reading and passed by roll-call votes. Council members said there was no further discussion prior to passage.
Council also passed levies and assessments (ordinances 26-31 and 26-32) for solid-waste collection charges and street-lighting improvements; those measures were advanced with emergency language where appropriate and recorded as passed.
