The board received several routine updates from commissioners covering housing and economic development, broadband grant administration and a traffic-signal project tied to a commercial development.
Commissioners said the Housing and Redevelopment Authority provided an annual review of ongoing renovation projects (including an old-school renovation) and that the HRA designated local depositories. Commissioner updates also recapped a presentation from Justin Janz (ECE) on fiber expansion and the county's role shepherding grants toward border-to-border broadband coverage.
On transportation, a commissioner described a traffic study and planned signal project at a three-legged intersection near a planned Quick Trip; the project will be coordinated with MnDOT and the city and could include temporary signals over the winter and larger work next summer. Commissioners also reported ongoing labor negotiations with Teamsters and deputies and noted progress on a small set of contracts.
No formal actions were taken on these items; commissioners asked staff to continue coordination and return with details or bids as appropriate.
