Council approves amendment to engineering services agreement, raising cap to $30,000

Preston Council approved an amendment to the city's contract with Keller Engineering to increase the time-and-materials cap from $10,000 to $30,000 to continue plat reviews and other engineering support; the amendment was described as a temporary cap increase pending workload.
Kolter Hollings of Keller Engineering told the council the firm has provided plat reviews, water-model and traffic-impact reviews since February and the original $10,000 cap has been reached. "This this takes it up to that 30,000 total," Hollings said, explaining the amendment would allow the firm to continue routine engineering coordination on an as-needed basis through the established scope.
Council members asked whether the cap is a one-time total or annual and were told the amendment raises the contract cap to $30,000 and any further increases would require another amendment. Council moved, seconded and voted unanimously to approve the amendment and authorize the mayor to sign the updated owner–consultant agreement.
