Peekskill lays out packed summer schedule: concerts, pool, camps nearing capacity

He said Juneteenth will include the city’s fifth annual basketball skills event with a new career fair, the July 4 riverfront celebration will feature a 7PM concert by 'Ladies of the Eighties' followed by fireworks shortly after 9PM, and the summer concert series opens June 25 with the FDR Drive Band.
Jonathan added recreational details: family movies begin July 3 in Pugsley Park; the city pool will expand to seven‑day service starting June 28 with weekday hours 1–7PM and weekend hours 11AM–8PM; youth swim and camp registrations are near capacity and the parks department is adding sections where possible. He also noted workforce development, a community kitchen cohort starting July 7, and logistics for boat ramp passes (card only). Council members praised the programming and asked staff to continue outreach as capacity fills.
